Pro-Universal™

Multipurpose Coil Cleaner

Keep it simple with Pro-Universal™, the powerful coil cleaner that is safer for the user and kinder to the equipment.

Benefits of Pro-Universal™

  •  Flexible and multi-functional
    • Can be used on condensers, evaporators and air filters, and even as a case cleaner.
    • No need to carry an array of cleaning products.
  • Unique triple action cleaning effect of degreasing, deodorising and de-contamination
    • Removes sources of contamination which cause slime and sludge build up in the drain pan.
    • Ensures a complete cleaning regime.
  • On-going protection for the coil - A mono-molecular coating is left on the coil after cleaning, providing protection and aiding future maintenance.
  • Non-foaming and safe for coils
    • Attacks the dirt and grime but not the coil itself.
    • Safer for the equipment and the engineer.
  • Economic and effective - Low concentration mix ratios provide total cleaning power cost-effectively.
  • Choice of four product package options:
    • 5 litre concentrates.
    • 1 litre pre-mixed G2G (Good 2 Go) Universal.
    • 500ml aerosol
    • Unique Granular Coil Cleaner package, makes 8 litres

The downside of traditional foaming coil cleaners

Many traditional foaming coil cleaners are uninhibited acid or alkaline formulations. These chemicals can be potentially dangerous to both the user and indeed the equipment itself.

When traditional acid cleaners leave coils shiny, what in fact has happened is that the acid has reacted with the metal, stripping away a layer of aluminum from the coil. This may leave a bright, attractive finish but the acid has actually eaten into the coil itself.

Research has shown that after six treatments by an acid based cleaner, as much as 24% of the metal from the coil has been dissolved. Typical traditional alkaline cleaners can remove up to 18% of the metal, as illustrated in the graph at right.

Less metal on the coil means that heat exchange is less effective and so more energy is required to achieve the same level of cooling, leading to increased utilities bills. Furthermore, placing increased demands on the equipment over a period of time may shorten its lifespan and incur repair or replacement costs.

The Pro-Universal difference

As a solution, DiversiTech has developed Pro-Universal™, which not only cleans very effectively, but also has virtually no detrimental long-term effect on the equipment.

Pro-Universal™ features a special inhibitor that prevents its alkaline ingredient from attacking the coil. Instead, it concentrates solely on actively breaking down soil and dirt.

Tests have proved that, after six treatments, unlike with the uninhibited cleaners, none of the metal has been removed. This means that energy is less likely to be wasted through inefficient operation, saving money and also benefitting the environment.

As well as being friendlier to equipment, Pro-Universal™ is also safer for the user than many traditional foaming cleaners.

Another key advantage of Pro-Universal™ is that it leaves a mono-molecular coating on the coil. This coating guards the coil between treatments, protecting the coil from the environment and also making the next clean that bit easier.

Pro-Universal™ is so-named as it is equally effective on condensing and evaporating units. This makes product selection simple for the engineer. No more need to carry an array of chemicals — Pro-Universal™ will do the job.

Why should equipment be regularly maintained?

A frequent maintenance programme is vital for the upkeep of air conditioning equipment. Regular cleaning with Pro-Universal™ may in fact save the owner of the equipment money over time rather than being regarded as an expense.

  • Extend equipment life and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs or replacements - Dirty coils and fans increase workload on the compressor, thereby potentially shortening its lifespan.
  • Lower utilities cost - A layer of dirt on a coil just 1mm thick can result in a 35% hike in energy consumption, potentially increasing utilities bills significantly.
  • Improved indoor air quality - Poor indoor air quality can reduce employee comfort and productivity, deter customers and even lead to liability issues.
